Priest in WoW Forever — What Changed from Classic
53 talents13 new29 reworked0 relocated11 unchanged7 gone from the trees
Priest in WoW Forever has 53 talents, thirteen new and twenty-nine rewritten, and it is the only class where nothing was merely relocated. The tree names are Discipline, Holy and Shadow Magic. Three Classic talents or later spells are baseline now: Shadow Word: Death, Devouring Plague for every race, and Fear Ward for every Priest. Divine Spirit is trained rather than talented. Six Classic talents left outright: Unbreakable Will, Improved Power Word: Fortitude, Force of Will, Improved Prayer of Healing, Lightwell and Improved Vampiric Embrace.
The redesign gives each tree a signature spell it lacked in Classic: Penance in Discipline, Prayer of Mending as the Holy capstone, and a Mind Flay that slows and can be improved in Shadow. Power Infusion and Shadowform keep their 31-point spots with new wording, and Discipline in particular reads like a damage-and-shields hybrid rather than a mana-utility stop on the way to Holy.
Discipline
Discipline has seven new talents. Power in Light and Twin Disciplines are damage talents in row one: the first buffs Smite and Penance against Holy Fire targets, the second buffs all instant casts. Holy Precision is Holy spell hit. Soul Warding shortens and cheapens Power Word: Shield and requires Improved Power Word: Shield. Penance, one point in row five, is the channelled heal-or-damage volley. Renewed Hope adds crit to the direct heals including Penance, and Divine Aegis turns critical heals into absorb shields. Power Infusion now gives 20% spell damage and healing for 15 seconds and requires Penance.
Holynew 31-point talent
Holy adds Binding Heal, a low-threat heal that hits the target and the caster, Litany of Light, which refunds mana for alternating between different healing spells, and Prayer of Mending as the new 31-point talent, requiring Spirit of Redemption. Twilight Focus (was Healing Focus) covers any spell, Spiritual Guidance adds spell damage as well as healing from Spirit, Inspiration is an armor bonus, and Improved Healing includes Penance and Prayer of Mending. Holy Nova, Searing Light and Spirit of Redemption are still here with new numbers.
Shadow Magic
Shadow Magic keeps Shadowform on top and adds three talents around its new baseline spells. Improved Mind Flay, which requires Mind Flay, adds damage, five yards of range and a stronger slow. Devouring Contagion makes Devouring Plague cheaper and lets it jump when its target dies. Early Demise raises Shadow Word: Death's crit chance on low-health targets. Shadow Weaving is a stacking proc now, Vampiric Embrace heals the party for 20% of Shadow damage, and Spirit Tap doubles Spirit for 15 seconds on a kill. Silence keeps its row-five spot.
