WoW Forever Talent Changes: All 470 Talents Compared with Classic
Every WoW Forever talent change from the BlizzCon 2026 demo: 119 new talents, 14 new 31-point talents, 81 Classic talents gone. Class-by-class summary with links to each tree.
The BlizzCon 2026 demo let players open every talent tree for all nine classes. Reading each tooltip and comparing it to Classic gives the numbers below: 470 talents across 27 trees, 119 new, 263 reworked, 19 relocated with the same effect, 69 unchanged, and 81 Classic talents no longer in the trees (5 of those became trainer spells). 14 of the 27 31-point talents are new. This guide summarises each class and links to its calculator page, where every rank's text is shown and a Classic diff can be toggled.

Four patterns behind the changes
1. Weapon specializations are gone
Warrior lost Axe, Mace, Sword and Polearm Specialization; Rogue lost Dagger, Mace, Sword and Fist Weapon Specialization; Shaman lost Two-Handed Axes and Maces and Weapon Mastery; Paladin and Warrior keep only the one-handed and two-handed versions. In their place, Warrior's Weaponmaster and Rogue's Hack and Slash give a benefit per weapon type from a single talent. The practical effect is that a new weapon never forces a respec.
2. Later-expansion signature spells return as talents
Mutilate, Penance, Prayer of Mending, Lava Burst, Riptide, Arcane Blast, Hot Streak, Ice Lance, Mangle, Berserk, Wild Growth, Incinerate, Conflagrate-style Fire and Brimstone, Lone Wolf: every tree got at least one spell that Classic players remember from a later expansion, placed at a Classic point cost. They sit in rows three to seven, so most are available before level 40.
3. "Improved X" filler was cut and the points came back
Warlock alone dropped eleven "Improved" talents. Priest lost Improved Power Word: Fortitude and Improved Prayer of Healing, Paladin lost three Improved Aura talents, Hunter lost Improved Hunter's Mark and Improved Scorpid Sting. Several Classic talents became trainer spells instead: Consecration (Paladin), Blessing of Kings (Paladin), Divine Spirit (Priest), Nature's Grasp (Druid), Omen of Clarity (Druid). Every one of those is a point a Classic build spent that a Forever build does not.
4. Capstones were replaced where the Classic one was weak
The 14 new 31-point talents are Light's Vigil (Paladin Holy), Twist of Light (Paladin Retribution), Lacerating Strikes (Hunter Survival), Venom (Rogue Assassination), Thousand Cuts (Rogue Subtlety), Prayer of Mending (Priest Holy), Lava Burst (Shaman Elemental Combat), Rage of the Farseer (Shaman Enhancement), Riptide (Shaman Restoration), Drain Hope (Warlock Affliction), Demonic Pact (Warlock Demonology), Incinerate (Warlock Destruction), Berserk (Druid Feral Combat), Wild Growth (Druid Restoration). The ones kept, such as Mortal Strike, Bestial Wrath and Adrenaline Rush, are the Classic capstones people already took; the replaced ones are the trees where Classic's top talent was a reason to stop at 20 points.

How to read the calculator's Classic diff
Press C on any calculator page or flip the Classic diff switch. Cells get a badge: N for a new talent, C for reworked text, M for a relocated talent; unchanged talents fade. Hovering a reworked talent shows Classic's rank-one text with the changed words struck out and the new words inserted, and the talents cut from that tree are listed under it, marked "trainer" when the demo spellbook shows them as trained. That is the same comparison this guide is built from, one talent at a time.
