Added in ForeverReworked (text, ranks or position)Relocated, same effectFaded icons are unchanged from Classic. Each tooltip shows the Classic text; talents cut from a tree are listed beneath it.
  • Add a point with a click. Take one back with a right-click or Shift+click.
  • Tap a talent to read it, tap again to add a point, press and hold to take one back.
  • Each row opens after 5 more points in that tree. An arrow means the talent it points from must be maxed first.
  • Where the demo only showed one rank, the other ranks are estimated and say so in the tooltip.
  • Press C to toggle the Classic diff.

Found a wrong number, arrow or rank? Report it with the class and talent name and it gets corrected.

Shaman in WoW Forever — What Changed from Classic

50 talents12 new29 reworked4 relocated5 unchanged8 gone from the trees

Shaman is the only class in WoW Forever whose three 31-point talents are all new: Lava Burst, Rage of the Farseer and Riptide. The class has 50 talents, twelve new, twenty-nine rewritten and only five unchanged. Eight Classic talents left the trees and none returned as trainer spells: Elemental Mastery; Shield Specialization, Enhancing Totems, Two-Handed Axes and Maces, Improved Weapon Totems and Weapon Mastery from Enhancement; Nature's Guidance and Totemic Mastery from Restoration. Two-handed axes and maces are simply usable now.

Totems changed underneath the trees. Fire Nova is a ranked spell rather than a totem, Totemic Projection and Totemic Recall are new abilities, and Call of the Ancestors and Call of the Elements let you drop a set of totems at once. Several talents were rewritten around that: Improved Fire Nova replaces Improved Fire Totems, and Elemental Reach (was Storm Reach) covers Fire Nova and Lava Burst.

Elemental Combat tree iconElemental Combatnew 31-point talent

Elemental Combat gains Lightning Overload, a chance for Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning to cast a second copy, and Earthbound, which makes Earthbind Totem root on placement. Lava Burst, the 31-point talent, is a Fire nuke that deals extra damage when your Flame Shock is on the target, and it requires Lightning Overload. Elemental Alacrity (was Lightning Mastery) reduces cast time on Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst. Reverberation moved into this tree from Restoration. Elemental Focus and Call of Thunder keep their roles.

Enhancement tree iconEnhancementnew 31-point talent

Enhancement is a melee tree that scales with Intellect. Mental Dexterity converts Intellect into Attack Power and is required for Flurry; Mental Quickness converts it into spell damage and healing and is required for the capstone. Shamanistic Focus cuts Shock and Lightning Shield costs. Improved Stormstrike adds mana regeneration to the strike. Maelstrom Weapon, five ranks in row six, lets melee hits shorten your next Lightning Bolt cast. Rage of the Farseer, the new 31-point talent, is a 25-second haste cooldown for both swings and casts. Spirit Weapons replaces Parry and includes a threat reduction.

Restoration tree iconRestorationnew 31-point talent

Restoration adds Mindfulness (regeneration while casting), Water Shield (mana on being hit) and Riptide, the new capstone: an instant heal with a heal-over-time that also boosts Chain Heal. Riptide requires Healing Way. Natural Grace replaces Healing Grace for threat, Tidal Focus now adds hit chance as well as a mana discount, and Improved Reincarnation raises maximum health. Mana Tide Totem, Nature's Swiftness and Purification are still the middle of the tree.

Three starting points at level 60. The link carries the placement order, so the leveling build doubles as a pickup order; open one, then change what you like.

Beyond the trees

5 of the 10 races can be a Shaman; their racials are on the WoW Forever racials page. The baseline spells that changed, and the demo spellbook, are under class abilities, and the account-wide Legacy perks apply to every character. For the picture across all nine classes, read the guide to every talent change in WoW Forever.

Shaman FAQ
