Warrior in WoW Forever — What Changed from Classic
54 talents11 new35 reworked1 relocated7 unchanged9 gone from the trees
The Warrior keeps its shape in WoW Forever: Arms, Fury and Protection are still the three trees, Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst and Shield Slam are still the 31-point talents, and 54 talents fill the grid. What changed is the middle of every tree. Eleven talents are new, thirty-five were rewritten, and nine Classic talents are gone. The biggest cut is the four weapon specializations in Arms. Axe, Mace, Sword and Polearm Specialization are replaced by one five-rank talent, Weaponmaster, which gives a different benefit per weapon type. That ends the Classic habit of respeccing when a new weapon drops.
Two Classic talents became baseline. Victory Rush and Tactical Mastery are trained, so the talent called Improved Tactical Mastery now adds extra Rage retention on top of what every Warrior has. Anger Management was reworked too: it still ticks Rage in combat and now also slows Rage decay out of combat by 30%. Fury lost Improved Demoralizing Shout and Improved Battle Shout; Protection lost Improved Shield Block, Improved Taunt and One-Handed Weapon Specialization. None of those returned as trainer spells in the demo spellbook.
Arms
Arms is built around bleeds and Overpower. Improved Rend now raises Bleed damage by 12% per rank, and Deep Wounds requires it. Bloodthrill, a new five-rank talent in row five, gives melee hits against a Rend target a chance to activate Overpower, which turns the Rend-then-Overpower loop into something you do every few seconds rather than only after a dodge. Spearing Strike is a new active ability in row four: 40% weapon damage, with a large bonus against Giants, Dragonkin and mounted targets. Impale and Two-Handed Weapon Specialization survive, and Mortal Strike is unchanged from Classic, including the 50% healing reduction.
Fury
Fury got the most quality-of-life work. Boundless Rage adds 10 maximum Rage per rank. Raging Blows makes Whirlwind strike with the off-hand and cuts Cleave's cost. Precision, three ranks of hit chance, sits in row five so a dual-wielder can reach it without leaving the tree. Dual Wield Specialization now also raises off-hand Rage generation and off-hand hit chance, and Enrage triggers from any damaging attack rather than only critical strikes. Bloodthirst was reworked: 35% of Attack Power plus a flat amount, and it grants movement speed. Death Wish still needs to be taken on the way to it.
Protection
Protection has five new talents and reads like a tree designed for someone who actually tanks in Defensive Stance. Master of Defense gives Rage on dodges and parries with a shield. Vanguard lets you Charge in Defensive Stance. Vitality raises Stamina and Strength, Focused Rage cuts the cost of offensive abilities, and Bastion adds 2% damage per rank while a shield is equipped, which is the answer to Classic's "prot does no damage" problem. Shield Specialization now also generates Rage on block, and Shield Slam scales with Block Value. Last Stand and Concussion Blow keep their old jobs.

Warrior FAQ
- What's new for Warrior in WoW Forever?
- Eleven new talents: Spearing Strike, Bloodthrill and Weaponmaster in Arms; Boundless Rage, Raging Blows and Precision in Fury; Master of Defense, Vanguard, Vitality, Focused Rage and Bastion in Protection. Victory Rush and Tactical Mastery are baseline.
- What's the best Warrior leveling spec?
- Arms, as in Classic. Improved Rend, Deep Wounds and Weaponmaster carry the early levels and Mortal Strike arrives at 40. The leveling build above places the points in that order.
- How many Warrior talents are there in Forever?
- 54 across three trees: 17 in Arms, 18 in Fury and 19 in Protection. 51 points are available at level 60, so a 31/20/0 split is the most common shape.
- Did any Warrior talents get removed?
- Nine. The four Arms weapon specializations (Axe, Mace, Sword, Polearm) became Weaponmaster; Improved Demoralizing Shout, Improved Battle Shout, Improved Shield Block, Improved Taunt and One-Handed Weapon Specialization are gone outright.
- Is Mortal Strike still the Arms capstone?
- Yes, and its text is unchanged from Classic. Bloodthirst and Shield Slam keep their spots but were rewritten; toggle the Classic diff in the calculator to see the exact wording change.
- Are these talents final?
- They are what the BlizzCon 2026 demo showed. Ranks that the demo did not display are estimated from the shown rank and marked as such in each tooltip. The beta starts September 17, 2026 and numbers may move. Read about beta access.
