Legacy in WoW Forever: Account-Wide Perks from Challenges
How WoW Forever's Legacy system works: one point per challenge, spent across Adventure, Resourcefulness and Professions. All 19 perks from the BlizzCon 2026 demo and what is still unknown.
Legacy is WoW Forever's account-wide progression: complete a challenge, earn a Legacy point, spend it on a perk that every character on the account benefits from. The BlizzCon 2026 demo showed 19 perks with 71 ranks in three trees: Adventure, Resourcefulness and Professions. None of them affect combat. They save time, gold and reagents, and they are the reason a fourth alt in Forever will level differently from the first. This guide explains the system as shown, lists every perk, and is clear about what is still unknown.
How points are earned
Challenges are grouped by category: classes, tradeskills, PvP, adventure, dungeons and raids. Each completed challenge is worth one point. Examples shown or described so far are of the "reach a milestone" type: complete a dungeon, hit a profession skill, win battlegrounds, finish a zone's storyline. Points are shared across the account; each character spends its own copy of the pool, so an alt can pick different perks than your main without losing your main's choices.
The three trees
Adventure
- Well Rested (5 ranks): Your rested experience accumulates 4% faster and your rested experience cap is increased by 4%.
- Talented (5 ranks): You gain talent points every level starting at level 9 instead of level 10, but you still may not have more than 51 total talent points.
- High Alert (2 ranks): Increases your ability to detect nearby targets with Stealth as if your level were increased by 1. Ineffective in battlegrounds.
- Thrill of Adventure (5 ranks): You gain 1% of your maximum Health and Mana over 10 sec each time you deliver the killing blow to a non-trivial enemy. Ineffective in dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds.
- Field Guide (3 ranks): Reduces your cooldown on adding Camp features by 8%.
- Frequent Flier (1 rank): You receive a 50% discount on all flight paths, and your flight path mount flies 20% faster.
- Field Medicine (2 ranks): Reduces the duration of the Recently Bandaged effect by 5 sec when you use a bandage. Ineffective in dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds.
Resourcefulness
- The Quick and the Dead (2 ranks): Increases movement speed while dead by 5% and your helpful spells and abilities cost no resources for 1 min after being resurrected or until you enter combat.
- Reinforce (5 ranks): You take 8% less durability loss when you die.
- Diplomat (5 ranks): Increases your reputation gains by 2%.
- For Great Honor (5 ranks): Increases Honor Points gained by 2%.
- Permanence (2 ranks): Your class abilities which grant long-duration stat or attribute benefits to all party or raid members last 50% longer, and the benefits you gain from resting at a camp last 50% longer.
- Gourmand (3 ranks): Increases the duration of beneficial effects from eating food by 33%.
- Reagent Economy (1 rank): Your class abilities no longer require reagents purchasable from vendors, and your Tier 1 camping features cost no reagents to craft.
Professions
- Working Overtime (5 ranks): Increases your chance to gain a skill increase from using any primary, secondary, or class-based tradeskill by 4%.
- Performance Bonus (5 ranks): You have a 5% chance to receive 100% increased Merchant Favor when you turn in a crate to the Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply and Logistics.
- Luremaster (5 ranks): While fishing with a lure active, you have a 25% chance to catch an extra fish.
- Master Chef (5 ranks): Your cooking recipes have a 10% chance to create an extra result.
- Dedicated Study (5 ranks): 25 sec cast, 23 hour cooldown. Increases your skill by 1 in your lowest tradeskill among your Primary and Secondary tradeskills. If you have already reached 300 skill in your two current Primary tradeskills and all three Secondary tradeskills, you gain 2 to 4 of a random Elemental Essence.
What to take first
If the per-character cap turns out to be in the mid-teens, most players will fill one tree and dip into a second. Some perks are clearly front-loaded:
- Talented (Adventure) gives a talent point from level 9. It does not raise the 51-point cap, so it is one extra point during the whole 10–59 stretch. Small, but it is the only perk that touches your build; the calculator assumes the normal level 10 start.
- Frequent Flier (Adventure, one rank) halves flight costs and speeds flights by 20%. On a fresh character the gold saving is real from the first flight path.
- Reagent Economy (Resourcefulness, one rank) removes vendor reagents from class abilities. Every Mage, Priest, Druid, Shaman, Paladin and Rogue with poisons or powders stops buying them.
- Well Rested and Thrill of Adventure (Adventure) are the leveling-speed perks: faster rested XP and health/mana back on killing blows.
- Diplomat and For Great Honor (Resourcefulness) are for the people who will grind reputation or honour on more than one character.
- Working Overtime and Dedicated Study (Professions) are profession-leveling perks; Dedicated Study is a once-a-day skill point for your lowest tradeskill and, at 300 in everything, a small essence income.
Camping and Legacy
Several perks reference camps: Field Guide shortens the cooldown on adding camp features, Permanence extends camp rest buffs, and Reagent Economy covers Tier 1 camping features. Camping is Forever's campfire system: a Basic Campfire creates a campsite with rest, vendors, repairs and profession workspaces, and players add up to three profession objects to it. Legacy's Adventure tree is where the camping upgrades live, so a player who enjoys the outdoor loop should look there first.
What is not known yet
- The point cap per character and the total number of challenges.
- Whether perks can be respecced, and at what cost.
- Whether any combat-adjacent perk exists beyond Talented. The demo's three trees are deliberately non-combat.
- Whether challenge completion is retroactive when a new challenge category is added in a later phase.
The Legacy perks page keeps the current list with icons and a tree filter, and will change when the beta shows more. The Forever vs Classic guide puts Legacy next to the other new systems.
